About Big Paintball:
I am a new to gaming, older person, and I really enjoy this game. It is perfect for just kinda “zoning out” and forgetting your irl problems for a bit. The graphics are cute, the little quests are varied and keep you busy. The mechanics are easy and the point and click to move around and interact is simple. The transition between map areas is a little clunky and there ARE some “bugged” areas that I am sure will be fixed soon (the elf’s snow door is one). For me personally the one thing I really dislike is seeing other players when I go to the Townlet. It wouldn’t be so bad except I see one character with a pornographic name–I know, I know, just ignore them…but still. 🙁 Kinda jarring when I am in a “zen” mode. Other than that minor quibble it is a delightful game and I am enjoying playing. I am a big fan of games like Stardew Valley. This, however, is not Stardew Valley. While I initially enjoyed the game, it quickly became repetitive in a way that was not enjoyable. The rewards for market contracts are not balanced. You spend all of your time grinding out materials, which normally I do not mind. But in this game every day just felt the same. The pacing is too slow and the gate-keeping quickly became frustrating. There are a lot of cute stuff to buy, but affording them is a whole different story. Some things did not make sense to me, like buying a chicken to sell for pawprint coin things, but in order to afford another chicken, you would have to sell two chickens so there was no reward for doing so. Or you can sell a bunch of byproducts, like eggs and milk, but you need them for cooking and market contracts, which don’t really pay much either. I do not see myself finishing this game. It takes way too much time, and the gameplay is too repetitive with too little reward.
